It is a difficult moment for The Multimedia Group. In its tribute, the Group extolled the virtues of Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong (KABA), who is no more!
"We are walking around today with a deep sense of loss and disbelief. It is impossible to believe that KABA’s sincerity, integrity, calm demeanor, and exalting dignity will no longer enrich our team meetings; that his experience, wisdom and kindness will not be available to us, his colleagues, and that his commitment to duty, drive for justice, fairness and balance in his work will no longer be available.
"His key qualities of humility, love, kindness and warm attitude towards his colleagues, friends and audience have given us the strength to stand here today to pay our last respects and immortalize his name," the Group said in a glowing tribute to the late host of 'Ekosii Sen' on Asempa FM.
Below is the tribute read by Head of Group Human Resource of The Multimedia Group, Nana Elegba:
It is still very difficult to believe that our own Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong, affectionately called KABA, has gone to be with his maker!
We are walking around today with a deep sense of loss and disbelief. It is impossible to believe that KABA’s sincerity, integrity, calm and dignity will no longer enrich our team meetings; that his experience, wisdom and kindness will not be available to us his colleagues, and that his commitment to duty, drive for justice, fairness and balance in his work will no longer be available.
His key qualities of humility, love, kindness and warm attitude towards his colleagues, friends and audience have given us the strength to stand here today to pay our last respects and immortalise his name.
Joseph Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong joined the Multimedia Group as a Broadcast Journalist on September 1, 2009.
The document that was approved for his recruitment stated inter alia; ‘need for an experienced and versatile broadcast Journalist to strengthen the news team on Adom & Asempa FM’.
We can say without a doubt that KABA indeed fulfilled that need and exceeded it. His versatility was there for all to see.
During KABA’s journey with the good people of Ghana and the Multimedia family, he performed with distinction, the following key roles: Host of Badwam Show on Adom TV; Co-Producer of Badwam Show; Anchor for Asempa Today; Bench for Ekosii Sen; Host of Kukurantumi; Bench for Dwaso Nsem; and until his death host of the all-time great political show, ‘Ekosii Sen’ on Asempa Fm.
KABA was an everyday employee like all of us as he went through all the emotions of everyday work. What however stood him out were the qualities that he brought to his work which endeared him to all that he came into contact with.
His contributions were powerful and his work ethic remarkable. He brought energy, commitment and integrity to his work at the Multimedia Group.
KABA was bubbling with optimism as he spearheaded the drive to implement our new talk series project, ‘Ekosii Sen Talk Series’ so for him to have been taken from us at this crucial moment adds to our pain.
This project was very dear to his heart and in honour of his memory, we will go on with this project and ensure that we execute it successfully.
KABA!; We will miss that little twinkle that used to light up your eyes.
We will miss the sound of your voice, your laughter and your exhalations.
But most of all, we will miss the way you made us feel like nothing could ever harm us because of your strong love, care and commitment, which were so real.
KABA served with grace and dignity. He was one of a kind and he will be sorely missed
His demise is a great loss to Asempa FM and indeed the entire Multimedia family.
Joseph Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong it’s indeed tough to say goodbye to a person so valued
It’s hard to bid farewell to a person so respected
It’s difficult to see you go, the office will be stripped bare
When we recall your name, KABA, it will not be about our loss but it will be about the great things you achieved with us while on this earth and for who you were.
Our hearts go out to Valentina, his wife, Nana Yaa Ansah-Asabea Acheampong, his daughter, Madam Felicia Amoah Ampenyin & Rev Henry Kwasi Amoah, his parents and his entire extended family. May they all find peace and grace in the Lord.
Thank you God for giving us such a wonderful young man. Goodbye, KABA, from all your colleagues at Asempa FM and the Multimedia family. God be with you till we meet again. Amen!
