The Sekondi police have apprehended a 32-year-old woman, Adwoa Dapor, for allegedly burying her newly-born baby boy alive at Bondai.
However, she has been charged with concealment of a child at birth.
The Western Regional Crime Officer, Mr. J.K Abraham confirmed the tragic incident to the GNA on Friday.
He said Dapor gave birth to a baby boy, but wrapped him in a T-shirt and buried him alive at Bondai Top Hill, in the Prestea Huni Valley District of the Western Region.
The police, acting upon a tip-off, went to the place and exhumed the decomposing corpse.
Police investigations into the case continue.
