Nigerian actress and activist Kate Henshaw has urged women to recognise the power of their voices and remain resolute in pursuing their purpose despite criticism, setbacks and rejection.

Ahead of the fourth edition of Women of Valour in London, Henshaw emphasised that fearlessness is a deliberate choice - one that requires women to believe in themselves and keep moving forward even in the face of doubt.

“Choosing to be fearless means choosing myself, choosing my journey and even choosing my failures. It means continuing despite the negativity, the noise and the rejections. Your voice is powerful, and it is enough to create an impact,” she said.

Henshaw is expected to deliver the keynote address at this year’s gathering, which is being held under the theme “The Pursuit of Fearlessness.”

The event will take place at the London Hilton on Park Lane and is anticipated to draw women from various professional backgrounds for discussions centred on leadership, resilience and personal development.

Founded by Ghanaian broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah, Women of Valour has evolved into a global platform dedicated to highlighting the experiences of women who have overcome significant personal and social challenges.

Over the years, the initiative has focused on amplifying women’s stories while encouraging dialogue around courage, healing and transformation.

This year’s conference will also feature prominent voices from media, advocacy and international development. Among them is Debora Shanley, a Cambodian-American survivor advocate who has gained international recognition for raising awareness about childhood sexual abuse.

Also joining the speaker lineup is Ghanaian television personality and actress Nana Ama McBrown, whose career in entertainment and broadcasting has made her one of West Africa’s most recognisable public figures.

Another speaker expected at the event is Lesley Batchelor, a respected international trade specialist and Chief Executive Officer of Export Boot Camps. She previously served as Director General of the UK Institute of Export and International Trade and is widely known for her work supporting global trade and small business development.

Now in its fourth edition, Women of Valour continues to expand its international footprint. What began as a platform in Accra has gradually grown into a cross-continental movement, hosting events in cities such as Paris and now London.

Organisers say the 2026 edition will feature powerful testimonies, engaging panel discussions and networking opportunities designed to encourage women to confront fear, reclaim their voices and inspire others through their journeys.

With influential figures from across continents taking part, the London edition is expected to deepen conversations around courage, leadership and the transformative power of women’s stories.
