Ghanaian midfielder Ishmael Yartey has hinted that he could be loaned out by his Portuguese side Benfica this season.
The offensive midfielder joined the Portuguese side two seasons ago but he is yet to break into the first team.
But after enduring a difficult time, Yartey says a loan move to a second division side could precipitate his return to play for the first team.
“I have spoken to the officials of my club about the possibility of going out on loan to even a second division side,” Yartey told Ghanasoccernet.
“I want to stay here in Portugal but the possibility of getting into the first team is difficult because of the top players in the team.
“If I go out on loan somewhere I can get to showcase my talent better and possibly return to get a first team place.
“My team officials understand that I am desperate to play and I hope they can reach a deal for me soon to aid my future career.”
Yartey joined Benifca after excelling at the Fifa Under-17 World Cup in South Korea two years ago.
