A 35-year-old unemployed was on Thursday sentenced to six years in jail by a Kumasi Circuit Court for defiling a 10-year-old girl.
Daniel Amoah pleaded guilty to the charge.
Police Chief Inspector Comfort Baffour-Kyei told the court, presided over by Mr. Emmanuel Amoh-Yartey that the girl and her mother lived in the same area as the convict at New Tafo in Kumasi.
He said sometime in March, this year, Amoah lured the girl to his room and forcibly had sex with her and warned her not to disclose her ordeal to anybody.
However, the girl’s mother detected whilst bathing her that she had been defiled and when questioned, she mentioned Amoah.
The court heard that a medical examination requested by the police confirmed that the girl had been defiled.Source: GNA
