Kennedy Agyapong, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North, has advised members of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to shun provocative acts targeted at members of the NPP in order that peace may prevail in the country.
Some leading members of the NDC reportedly accused the NPP of dressing their members in NDC paraphernalia to storm the Supreme Court with canes last week.
Kennedy Agyapong rejected the NDC's claims, cautioning the governing party to refrain from lies and to allow NPP members to have their peace of mind.
He stated that the NPP, in the face of poll rigging that Agyapong said won the election for the NDC, had been accommodative and peaceful.
The NPP lawmaker expressed disgust over the peddling of falsehood by NDC members and called on them to be truthful.
Hon. Agyapong said the teeming NPP supporters across the country had remained calm and peaceful thanks to the insightful talks by top members of the party.
Ghana, he opined, requires peace and unity to continue developmental projects.
Hon. Agyapong slammed the Electoral Commission (EC) Chairman Dr. Afari Gyan for behaving like a 'tin God' who could not be touched in the country, indicating that inaction on the part of the EC boss helped the NDC to emerge victorious unjustifiably.
He noted that Dr. Afari Gyan always frowns, saying, "you are not indispensable."
Hon. Agyapong warned that the actions of EC boss, IGP Paul Tawiah Quay'e and Bishop Asante Antwi of the Peace Council could plunge the country into chaos if care is not taken.
