Assin Central Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong has hit hard at the Chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC), describing him as “evil.”
Members of the Peace Council were also not spared the attack, as Agyapong accused them of being hypocritical in their search for peace.
Commenting on the NPP’s court case at the Supreme Court on Adom FM on Monday, the business mogul blamed EC chairman Dr. Kwadwo Afari Gyan for the current state of affairs in the country.
He accused Dr. Afari Gyan of failing to lend a listening ear when the NPP was raising concerns over election irregularities and instead rushing to issue a declaration.
He said never before in the country’s democratic history has voting been held for two days, yet because of the ineptitude of the EC, that changed in the 2012 election.
Mr. Agyapong added that if all the parties agreed that because of the mistake of the EC, voting be postponed for another day, the EC should have, along these same lines, weigh the concerns of the NPP hold on with the declaration.
“Afari Gyan is evil,” he declared.
Kennedy Agyapong also had issues with the Peace Council, which he accused of hypocrisy.
He condemned the council members for keeping quiet when the cane wielding men and women in NDC ‘T’-shirts attacked members of the general public only to come out several days after to caution supporters of both NPP and NDC against acts of violence.
