The Deputy National Propaganda Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has denied the party’s involvement in the formation of a group to counter the pro- New Patriotic Party (NPP) group Let My Vote Count Alliance.
Solomon Nkansah intimated that the NDC as a ruling party is focused on delivering on its Better Ghana Agenda it made to Ghanaians and thus will not allow itself to be drawn into the NPP’s “child’s play”.
Let My Vote Stand Alliance is a group allegedly being formed by the NDC to oppose the activities of the multi-party group which is sensitizing Ghanaians about the legitimacy of the NPP’s court case.
This was according to a failed Council of State candidate, Abraham Agyemang Boadi, popularly known as Zuba after he lost the Council of State election to Tuasehene, Nana Asiamah Poku Afrifa.
Zuba who is a leading member of the NDC claimed the leadership of the party contacted him to form the group in the Ashanti region to oppose the activities of the pro-NPP group.
But Solomon Nkansah on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday, issued a disclaimer, distancing the NDC from the allegation.
He said checks at the party’s National and Constituency offices indicated that they is no such plan to form a group to counter what he called the flippant Let My Vote Count Alliance.
The NDC Deputy Propaganda Secretary opined that Zuba as an aggrieved candidate would be pardoned since he [Zuba] made the claim out of frustration.
He noted that a serious political party like that NDC will never waste time and money to counter a group that is "fighting a lost battle".
The NDC man added that the NPP is suffering from post-election trauma therefore pressure groups like Let My Vote Count will help them relieve their stress.
Solomon Nkansah said the NDC is law abiding and will wait for the verdict of the court.
