The family of former CPP Northern Regional Chairman Alhaji Issah Mobilla, say, they believe apart from the two soldiers who were found guilty of his murder, a lot more people were indirectly involved in his death and should be brought to justice as well. An Accra Fast Track High Court on Monday found two soldiers guilty and subsequently sentenced them to a combined period of 30 years imprisonment for causing the death of Alhaji Mobila. The two soldiers, Corporal Yaw Appiah and Private Seth Goka, were both found guilty of manslaughter by a seven-member jury. Private Goka, who is still on the run, was convicted in absentia and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment while Corporal Appiah received a jail term of 10 years. But speaking to Israel Laryea on Joynews Channel on Multi TV, Issah Mobila’s son, Shamsudeen Issah said, the family is still very sad as “ there is nothing the government can do to bring happiness to our lives because we’ve lost our father and nothing can bring him back”. On the issue of whether the conviction of the two soldiers would bring closure, he said, “those who killed him, are not just those who were physically involved in his killing, but all those who contributed in any way through their wealth or intelligence, must be brought to Justice” He called for further investigations to bring to justice, all those who were indirectly involved in his death.
