The National Service Scheme says one Salamatu Osmanu, who was arrested by the police in Savelugu/Nanton District in the Northern Region in connection with tampering with electoral materials of the Electoral Commission, is not a National Service person, as was previously reported.A disclaimer issued Tuesday February 19, 2013 by Felix Gyamfi, Acting Head of Public Relations, noted the said Salamatu Osmanu did her mandatory National Service with the Electoral Commission in the Savelugu/Nanton Municipality during the 2011/2012 Service Year, which officially ended on 31st August 2012.“She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Integrated Development Studies from the University for Development Studies. Our records also show that she duly signed and picked up her National Service Certificate with Serial Number NSSDW11511119025 on 11th January, 2013.“From our records, she is therefore NOT a Service Person and thus the claim that she is one by the media is untrue,” the statement said.
