After boycotting President John Mahama’s State of the Nation Address, the New Patriotic Party is preparing to present what it calls the “true state of the nation address.”
Even though minority members of the party did not monitor the president’s address from the Chamber, it is obvious they did elsewhere because they are not satisfied with what they heard.
They say the president’s address fell short of expectations.
Member of Parliament for the Asuogyaman constituency Kofi Osei Ameyaw told Joy News’ Evans Mensah that for the president to say that his “Better Ghana Agenda is giving him sleepless nights” can only be worrying to Ghanaians.
The president was commenting on the ongoing load shedding exercise across the country.
Osei Ameyaw said many Ghanaians are dying in hospitals because of the erratic power supply, which makes surgeries difficult to perform.
He said in addition to the fact that the government fails to provide the majority of its citizens with water, the few who have access to water are not safe because the water is also alleged to have been treated with expired chemicals.
Osei Ameyaw said on Tuesday or Wednesday, the NPP will give an account of the true state of the nation, one that will acknowledge Ghanaians’ suffering and provide solutions.
