Sportsfilla.com can confirm that the National under-17 Male team, the Black Starlets, will leave Ghana tomorrow for a training camp in Italy.
A squad of 25 players together with 8 officials and the technical team form part of the contingent that are expected in Italy tomorrow to prepare for the African Under 17 Nations Cup in Morocco next month.
A member of the Black Starlets Management committee, Winfred Osei Kwaku believes that even though the team is in superb shape after some friendly matches in the country, it will be appropriate to fine tune preparations in Italy which has similar weather conditions to that of Morocco.
“The team will leave tomorrow, subject to acquisition of visas. I know 25 players and 8 officials will leave Ghana for Italy. The team has been preparing very well in the country; playing a series of friendly matches and they are not doing badly at all, but they have to fine tune preparations in Italy so that they will be able to do well in Morocco for the tournament.”
The Black Starlets are expected to play a series of friendly matches in Italy before the continental competition.
Ghana will face West African neighbors, Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Congo in Group B.
The semi finalists will represent Africa at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in October.
