The Ghana Swimming Association (GSA) in partnership with Promasidor Ghana will organise the “Loya Accra Open Swimming Championship” on Saturday, April 27 at Legon.The one-day championship is expected to unearth talents and select a team ahead of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) African Juniors in Egypt and the World Juniors in Dubai respectively.According to Williams Kyei, General Secretary of the GSA, the event is opened to all swimmers and swimming clubs across the country.Prospective swimmers will compete in categories including 15-years and over, 13-14 years, 11-12 years and 10 years and under age categories for both male and female.He explained that 10-years and under will compete in events such as 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly, 4x50m medley relay and 4x50m freestyle relay.On the other hand, the 11-12years, 13-14years, and 15 years and over age groups are allowed entries into the 50m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly, 100m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly, 200m Individual Medley, 4x50m Medley relay and 4x50m Freestyle Relay events.
