Egypt U- 20 side are set to retain the services of influential captain Rami Rabiea when they face Ghana for the African Youth Championship title on Saturday.
The Ahli youngster has been struggling with an ankle problem as team doctor Osama Al-Shaer revealed he is a major doubt.
However, he was able to train with the team on Friday after passing a fitness test.
Rabiea has been one of Egypt stars of the tournament, scoring the crucial winner - that sent the Young Pharaohs to the World Cup - against Algeria.
Egypt and Ghana are tied at three youth titles each ahead of their final showdown in Oran.
As Egypt already miss star striker Ahmed Hassan ‘Koka’, it seems that Ahli’s Omar Bassam is set to lead the line against the Black Satellites.
“We played against Nigeria without a genuine striker, but we will be back to our 3-4-2-1 formation against Ghana,” coach Rabie Yassin said.
“Right now we only have Omar Bassam as the only striker in the squad.”
