An economist with the Centre for Policy Analysis (CEPA) Dr Joe Abbey has rated highly the performance of President John Mahama in his 100 days in office.
He says given the difficult circumstances and a “constitutional crisis hanging” around the neck of the country, president Mahama has done relatively well.
Mahama has come under heavy criticisms, especially by members of the opposition who accuse him of performing abysmally in his first 100 days in office.
They cite the erratic power, water and gas supplies and the season of strikes by public sector workers as examples of the ineptitude and poor performance by the government.
The Central Region Secretary of the NPP Kwamena Duncan said the 100 days of President Mahama is “an imposition of hell.”
President John Mahama has himself admitted in an interview that there have been challenges and promised that the challenges are being addressed.
Speaking to Joy News’ Evans Mensah, on the matter and how well he would rate the performance of the Mahama administration in his 100 days, Dr Abbey said he would give him a score of seven out of ten.
He said it will be unfair to take away the court issue in the analysis of Mahama’s performance because he, Mahama “sleeps and wakes up” with this court issue on his head.
Dr Abbey however stated that the “chronic issues” in the last few months has come out as a result of the “confrontational” posture adopted by government and advised that government officials to adopt better ways of dealing with some of the issues that crop up.
