The Christian Council has charged the ruling National Democratic Congress and the opposition New Patriotic Party involved in the ongoing election petition hearing, to accept the outcome.
The Council wants the parties to commit to respecting the decision the Supreme Court will take on the petition.
General Secretary of the Council Rev. Fred Degbe told Joy News peace must prevail irrespective of who the Judgment will favour.
“If any of the parties involved decides not to accept it (Supreme Court decision) then we are headed for chaos because the Supreme Court is the supreme decision making body of this land as far as law and order is concerned” Rev. Degbe said.
The NPP's flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, his running mate Dr Mahamadu Bawumia and chairman Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey are challenging the outcome of the 2012 polls citing widespread irregularities during voting.
Lawyers for the Electoral Commission, second respondent in the ongoing hearing of the election petition, continue their cross examination of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice Presidential candidate of New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2012 elections.
Hearing continues Thursday.
