The Convention People’s Party says it is working hard to consolidate its representation in Parliament after winning the Kumbungu parliamentary by-election.
The Kumbungu seat became vacant after incumbent MP Mohamed Mumuni left to take up the post of Secretary General of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States.
CPP candidate Amadu Moses Yahaya polled 13,029 to beat his closest contender, Alhaji Imoro Yakubu Kakpagu of the NDC who polled a little over 11,000 votes.
Director of Communications of the CPP, Nii Armah Akomfra, told Joy News the win is the outcome of a broad strategy to return to Parliament.
