Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya Constituency of Accra, Sarah Adwoa Safo has asked Ghanaians to focus more on the accelerated development of the country, rather than allowing their political inclinations to determine the pace of development for the country.
Adwoa Sao noted that, what will catapult the nation into its desired destination is when Ghanaians decide to make the development agenda of the nation their topmost priority.
The MP made the remarks in an interaction with staff of the Ga South Municipal Assembly at Abokobi, as part of her familiarization visit and to formerly introduce herself to the working staff.
Explaining further, Adwoa Safo pointed out that many public and civil servants, who are supposed to be apolitical, openly show their political biases in the course of the discharge of their civic duties, stressing that, what is even more dangerous is when people allow their political inclinations to affect the delivery of their work.
Adwoa Safo intimated that this adverse development does not inure to the benefit of the country and goes to negatively affect the growth and development of the country.
She therefore encouraged the staff to give off their best in order to put the Assembly on a higher pedestal in the comity of Assemblies in the country.
The Dome-Kwabenya legislator is presently touring her constituency to learn at first hand, the immediate needs and demands of the constituency to enable her fashion out a marked strategy to get them resolved. The visit has so far taken her to some communities in the constituency and these include Obaahemaa, Kwabenya as well as Agboogba.
At the Dome Market where the Assembly commissioned the newly constructed market, Adwoa Safo who was the guest speaker for the occasion advised the market women to take proper care of the market to ensure that it is properly maintained.
Adwoa Safo, then a candidate for the area prior to the 2012 general elections, strongly advocated the reconstruction of the market, against the Assembly’s planned eviction of traders from the premises.
