Dr. Mahammudu Bawumia, has expressed curiosity over what he describes as same hand writings for both the NPP and NDC polling agents at a polling station whose exhibit number is MBQ448.
Dr. Bawumia, under cross-examination in the election petition hearing at the Supreme Court was shown that exhibit by Counsel for NDC, Tsatsu Tsikata to identify.
He rightfully identified the exhibit and attested to the signature of only two polling agents – NDC and NPP.
"Your polling agent signed is that correct?" Tsatsu queried.
"Yes" Bawumia affirmed but added that he had made a curious observation on the right side on the pink sheet.
"It is very interesting…the NDC signed and wrote “accepted /good” and under the NPP column it is accepted. But interestingly the two are the same handwriting", he said.
He wondered how two columns which ought to have been signed and certified by two people, presumably with different handwritings were actually certified with the same handwritings.
His observation threw the court into a fit of laughter. The witness however denied that the perceived anomaly was a “major malpractice” but nonetheless “a curiosity”.
Tsatsu Tsikata, enters Day Seven of his cross examination of the second petitioner in a substantive hearing of the Presidential Election Petition which is in its fourteenth day.
