A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) legal team, Lawyer David Annan has advised the lead Counsel for the NDC, Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata to hold on to his pink sheets instead of asking Dr. Mahamudu Bawumina to comment on them.
Mr. Tsikata brought some pink sheets outside what has been tendered in court by the petitioners to prove there were similar 'irregularities' in the strongholds of the first petitioner, but Mr. Annan said that was a bad move.
He said Tsatsu Tsikata runs the risk of helping Dr. Bawumia to undermine the credibility of the evidence and that can badly affect Tsatsu’s case before the Supreme Court.
“Tsatsu is giving too much ammunition to the petitioners – it is like holding a toy gun and giving your opponent a machine gun to shoot at you.”
David Annan is therefore advising Tsatsu Tsikata to present the evidence in his possession and wait for the third respondent, General Secretary of the NDC, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia to comment on them during examination.
He said Asiedu Nketia will give Tsatsu proper and adequate answers as compared to Dr. Bawumia’s answers.
David Annan also cautioned the lead counsel for the petitioners, Philip Addison to desist from unnecessary objections because he can also benefit from Tsikata’s pink sheets.
He said the lead Counsels for both the petitioners and the respondents must comport themselves in court.
