District Chief Executive of Adansi North, Alhaji Abdul Latif Majdoud has told Joy News he suspects arson in the fire which gutted the Adansi North District Assembly office, destroying several items.He said when he arrived at the scene, he observed that the unknown arsonist had tucked a rag soaked in what smelled like diesel into the window of the assembly hall, but the whole rag could not catch fire.The fire started around 10 in the evening on Friday.But for the timely intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service, the fire would have spread to other properties.The security man at post at the assembly office has been detained. Reports say he has been giving conflicting accounts of what caused the fire.District Police Commander, DSP Daniel Anane Amoah has confirmed the incident. He said the security man is assisting with investigations.
