Stephen Atubiga, a member of the Communications team of the governing NDC, who was sentenced to three days' imprisonment for criminal contempt has been released from the Akuse Prison.
He has served his jail term, imposed on him by the Supreme Court hearing the election petition case Tuesday for comments the court said were contemptuous.
The NDC's Parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma North in the 2012 elections, Ras Mubarak, confirmed Mr. Atubiga's release to Joy News.
Meanwhile, members of the Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA) are on their way to the Ho Central Prisons to visit editor of Daily Searchlight newspaper, Ken Kuranchie, who was sentenced together with Mr. Atubiga.
He has served 3 out of a 10-day sentence handed to him by the Supreme Court on July 2.
James Kwabena Bomfe, a member of the LMVCA told Joy News their visit is to solidarise with Mr Koranchie.
Ken Koranchie was also sentenced for a publication in his Daily Searchlight newspaper which indicated the Judges were being hypocritical and selective in inviting people alleged to have made contemptuous comments and publications.
However, he got 10 days because the Judges said he did not show remorse when he appeared before them to answer to the publication.
