Stephen Atubiga, a member of the National Democratic Congress communication team who was released from Akuse Prison Thursday July 4 after serving his three day term, says he has paid the due price for his actions and admits the law took its full course.Speaking on the AM: Show on Joy News Channel on MultiTV, he advised those with access to media platforms, to make responsible utterances; especially his fellow politicians as “certain comments can disrupt Ghana’s democracy”. “We have to be responsible in our comments and know Ghana comes first before any political party”, he said.He also advised all parties in the ongoing Election Petition to respect the verdict of the Supreme Court. This runs contrary to his earlier comments, which landed him in jail.He plans on launching the “Atubiga foundation” to support inmates who are incarcerated without trial and provide facilities for prisons which lack them.Mr Atubiga was summoned by the Supreme Court for some contemptuous comments he made on Asempa FM’s Political Talk program ‘’Ekosii Sen’’ over the verdict of the Election Petition.He said that the ruling party will not accept an overturn of the results of the 2012 elections.He was jailed on Tuesday along with the Managing Editor of the Daily Searchlight, Kenneth Kuranchie, who was slapped with a 10-day sentence.
