A Deputy Minister of Information and Media Relations, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has challenged the Minority in parliament, to back their claim of high unemployment rate in the country with figures.
According to Mr. Kwakye Ofosu, the Minority's argument of high unemployment and poor economic performance, lacked statistical evidence, saying the claim is factually inaccurate.
The Minority in Parliament on Tuesday indicated, unemployment rate was skyrocketing and businesses are in a state of near collapse, as a result of the suffocating and hostile business environment in the country.
They told journalists at a news conference, heavy taxes imposed by government on Ghanaian businesses are "insensitive".
But speaking Wednesday on Badwam on Adom TV, the deputy Minister described the claims as "cheap politicking".
Mr. Ofosu admitted to the fact that local taxation had increased which may have effects on Ghanaians yet this decision had to be taken to cushion the reduce the pressure brought on the economy as a result of the implementation of the single spine salary structure.
He said 2.4 million people belonging to the working population are currently placed on the SSSS, amounting to 60 percent of government budgeted revenue.
He therefore charged the minority to provide alternatives to the problems they raised.
