The legal team for respondents in the ongoing election petition have indicated, they will file their written address by close of Tuesday, July 30.Mr Abraham Amaliba, a member of the legal team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), third respondents in the election challenging the election of president John Mahama said his party is done with the compilation.The party has "...almost finished [work on the address] as at the weekend and so tomorrow, I can confirm to you that we will be able to file," Mr. Amaliba stated on the Joy FM Super Morning Show, Monday, July 29,2013.He explained that NDC legal team have decided to file on the deadline for "strategic reasons", because they do not want to give away their legal arguments.Also, member of the communication team of the Petitioners, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, told Joy News his team will meet the Tuesday deadline.Lawyers for President John Mahama and the Electoral Commission, first and second respondents respectively, are also expected to file their addresses by Tuesday.The Supreme Court on Wednesday July 17, adjourned sitting to July 31, to enable the parties in the case to file their addresses.
