Adwoa Pokuaa was fined 500,000 cedis or in default, three months’ imprisonment for disturbing public peace, while Adwoa Adoma was also fined one million cedis for causing harm and disturbing public peace.
She will serve a six-month jail term in default.
Police Chief Inspector Bossman Tuffour told the court, presided over by E.K. Adjanor, that of late there had been a series of unnecessary quarrelling and fighting among some citizens of Adagya in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma district, causing the chief of the town to warn them to stop that practices.
He said on January 15, this year, Pokuaa and Adoma engaged in a quarrel which resulted in a fight and Adoma bit the upper lip of Pokuaa.
The unit committee chairman of the town, Martin King Mensah reported the incident to the police who arrested them and after investigations charged both with the offences.
