Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II, would grace the first ever Ghana Golf Awards (GGA) scheduled for Sunday, December 22, at the Event’s Haven, Trade Fare Center, La, Accra.
The event, which is being put together by the Ghana Golf Association (GGA) and Primeval Media, is aimed at conferring honours on distinguished golfers who excelled in 2013.
According to the GGA, the respected chief would be the chairman for the occasion and also deliver the key note address.
The respected chief, who is a golfer and ardent fan, would also use the occasion to interact with other golfers drawn from other parts of the country.
Also in attendance would be Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, Minister of Youth and Sports, who would be presented with a unique opportunity to interact with stakeholders in the sports.
The event is expected to attract other high profile personalities in the country, most of who are golfers.
It would be the first time, the GGA, charged with the responsibility of developing and promoting Golf in Ghana would be holding an awards night to reward the distinguished golfers.
The GGA is expected to confer honours on 30 award winners which include individuals, golf clubs and corporate institutions.
The highlight for the night would be the “Golfer of the Year” award which is the highest honour for the night and would be the envy for the night.
Over 300 guests are expected to fill the Event’s Haven, Trade Fare Center, La, Accra to round up activities for the year.
