The Interim Management Committee of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has announced the immediate termination of the appointment of coach Abdul, Karim Zito as the head Coach of the Club.
Coach Sampson Lamptey of the junior side, Auroras in the interim is said to be responsible for the training of the players of the team whilst attempts are made to recruit a new head coach.
Mr Harry Zakkour, Head of IMC of the Club in a statement issued on Monday copied to GNA Sports gave the assurance that everything would be done to steer the Club back to its winning ways under the new management.
He has on behalf of management apologized to the supporters and well wishers of the Club for ‘the uncharacteristic poor performance of the Club, which can be attributed to, among other factors, the poor recruitment done this year and improper technical direction”.
Hearts engaged the services of the former Asante Kotoko trainer in the pre-season after parting ways with Bulgarian coach, Mitko Kostadinov Dubrez who won the league title last season.
Hearts has in recent times laboured in vain to stay in their fearsome element and consistently delivered poor performances that have seen the Stephen Akwetey-led Interim Management Committee (IMC) losing their jobs in the process.
Coach Zito and his backroom staff survived earlier axing about three weeks ago when the IMC gave way to former Chief Executives, Harry Zakour and Thomas Okine in a bid to salvage the team’s campaign.
Hearts lie at the tenth position in the 16-team Premiership with eight points out of a possible 21.
