The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of Ghana 2008 African Cup of Nations has denied media reports that Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Andy Sam has been fired.
A statement signed by Magnus Rex Danquah, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of the LOC, said "although there have been some rescheduling of assignment and changes in some roles at the LOC, no one has been fired".
The statement said; "Mr Sam still maintains his position as the Deputy Chief Operating Officer at the Secretariat.
The LOC said it had, however, invited the National Sport Council (NSC) to bring their expertise to enhance the management of the sales of tickets for the tourney as the continental party approached the quarterfinals.
"We are of the view that at this crucial stage of the tournament, the experience of the NSC on gate management is especially required to further improve on access control to the stadiums for the rest of the competition."
There were media reports earlier on Wednesday that the former Ashantigold Football Club, Chief Executive had been fired.
