A Minister of State at the Interior Ministry has proposed the expulsion of Fulani herdsmen from the country.
That, he said was the only effective way of ensuring peace and security in many parts of the country where the Fulani herdsmen are terrorizing the indigenes and causing mayhem.
The minister stated that although some of the herdsmen were law abiding, majority of them were flouting the laws of Ghana with impunity.
Speaking to Joy News, Nana Obiri Boahen lamented the wanton destruction of farmlands by the herds of the Fulanis as well as attacks on citizens.
He stressed that with the failure of operation 'Cow Leg' which was aimed at dealing with the problem there is the need for a more proactive measure against the Fulanis.
The minister’s proposal comes in the wake of reported clashes between Fulanis and the residents of Begoro in the Fanteakwa District of the Eastern Region.
