The Northern Region Office of the Ghana Tourist Board (GTB) on Friday donated a quantity of chocolate drink, Cerelac and Geisha to the Nyohini Children's Home in Tamale.
Mr. William Ayambire, Northern Regional Director of the GTB said the donation was to show love and care to the children on the occasion of Valentine day when gifts were shared among love ones.
He said it was to also mark the national chocolate day, which sought to promote the consumption of chocolate among Ghanaians particularly children.
He said it was also a good will gesture to show the positive side of valentine day as against the general perception that the day was meant for sexual promiscuity.
Madam Augutine Quainoo, Director of the Children's home expressed gratitude to the GTB for remembering the children on an occasion such as the Valentine day and hoped other organisations would emulate them and come to the aid of the children by showing them love and affection.
