The life of the Ghanaian national on death row in Libya, Kwabena Kankam is still hanging in the balance.
This follows disagreements between members of the family of Isaac Oppong, the Ghanaian national Kankam murdered in Libya over whether to spare his life or not.
Kankam, known to Libyan authorities as Mahmoud Mustapha is languishing in a Libyan jail waiting to be executed for the murder.
But under Libyan law, his sentenced can be reprieved by the family of the murdered Oppong.
While some members of the Oppong family think that Kankam should be forgiven, others think that the principle of eye for an eye should be applied to the convicted murderer.
Speaking on Citi News, a brother of the late Oppong who hails from Esereso, Dormaa Ahenkro, Kwesi Oppong said he thought that Kankam should be pardoned.
According to him, although the family had lost an important member, allowing the Libyan authorities to execute Kakanm would serve no purpose.
He admitted that another member of the family was of the view that Kankam should be executed for his crime.
According to him the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had called him in an effort to meet with the family to try and resolve the issue.
The family would be taken to Libya to sign a testament granting Kankam clemency.
