The Ghana Export Promotion Council (GEPC), has organised a four-day training programme for exporters.
The training was to enable them keep abreast of the dynamic changes in the global market.
It also aimed at stimulating the interest of persons to see the export sector as holding many prospects.
Mr Samuel Brew, Head of Training at GEPC said the programme sought to encourage beginners and those who were already in the export trade to upgrade their knowledge in order to meet the challenges of the competitive export market.
“We do this every quarter to bring to the attention of exporters, trade information to enable them conform to requirements and standards of the various segments of the market,” he added.
Mr Brew said some exporters in the Volta, Western and Eastern regions had also benefited from the training adding that those in the Northern and Central Regions would be covered.
He said the training had brought to bear on the exporters the need for good planning and information on the export projects they might want to embark on.
Mr Brew said the training had also brought to the fore the challenges of pricing, supply constraints and finance faced by exporters.
Some of the topics being discussed at the training include costing and pricing, export financing, risk management, market research and the ECOWAS Trade Liberalisation scheme.
