Some 40,831 people registered for the replacement of their voters’ identity cards in the Western Region during the lost voters’ identity card replacement exercise. Mr Steve Opoku-Mensah, Western Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview that the highest figure of 7,735 people was recorded in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis followed by the Wassa West District with 5,690 people. The Shama District recorded the lowest figure of 1,376 people, Mr Opoku-Mensah said. He said all the districts in the region recorded more than 1,000 people.
