Former Information Minister, Mr, Dan Botwe says he would make himself available and pursue policies that would inure to the benefit of his constituency when he gets the nod as the Member of Parliament of the Okere Constituency.
He says he will represent the best interest of his people and contribute largely to the development of the country.
His statement follows a popular acclamation by the Okere Constituency of the NPP as the party’s Parliamentary candidate, on Tuesday.
Speaking to Joy News, the former Minister and General Secretary of the NPP said his popular acclamation was as a result of consultations between party executives and all stake holders.
Before his acclamation, questions were raised about his qualification to represent the constituency, an allegation he claimed could only be made by people who knew little about the party’s constitution.
Interestingly, the three other candidates who had earlier declared their intentions to stand on the NPP ticket were reported to have peacefully stepped down in support of Mr. Botwe.
Mr. Botwe has however advocated the need to widen the number of delegates to allow all party members to vote to select both Presidential and Parliamentary members of the Party.
This he said was the panacea to the many wranglings that has characterised the party's primaries.
