Of the number of combinations available to the NPP’s presidential drive, none puts the jitters and goose-pimples on the opposition NDC than the NANA-ALAN ticket, deep throat sources at the heart of the Zu-Za Party have hinted.
The NDC say, in as much as they look forward to the December brawl the dream combination of Nana Akuo Addo and Alan Kyerematen should put them on a high alert, even though they claim chances may not permit the fusion.
“Should that be announced, our only trump card should be the plugging of holes in the Nana claim that he is a true Zongo boy”, a major NDC source told THE SUN as it hit the investigative prowl only last week.
According to the source, the rest of the names cropping up as possible candidates are no match at all, especially pitted against the massive weight John Dramani Mahama commands throughout the entire country.
“We pray they submit any of the other names for that will be when we will know now for sure that providence has gifted us this country for another political term of office”, the source who desired to stay under the cloak of anonymity told THE SUN.
Already, signals from the Nana Addo camp tells of an early announcement of whoever that magic name would be, one clear month ahead of the promised August announcement.
Last month, a meeting among Party capos at an undisclosed location in Accra propelled the name ALAN KYEREMATEN forward, and has since then gained currency among the rank and file of Party caucuses in Northern, Upper West, Upper East, Western, Volta, Central and Eastern regions. The NDC official’s disclosure therefore effectively drives the nails into the coffin of the Party’s worst fears of Alan being named.
