The offices of two of the leaders of the Concerned Ghanaians for Responsible Governance (CGRG) have been burgled.

A statement by the Executive Secretary of the group George Kojo Anti confirmed that two laptops, two hard disks and a tablet were stolen from the office.

The incident has since been reported to the police.

The group suspects that the attack was done due to its involvement in the July 1 ‘Occupy Flagstaff House protest’ but stated “we shall remain relentless in our objective as a group albeit within the fine ambits of the Rule of Law”.

It also said it will not be forced into cowardice in its quest for responsible governance.

The Concerned Ghanaians for Responsible Governance is a non partisan civil society group which organized the ‘Occupy Flagstaff House’ campaign on July 1.

About 300 protestors largely middle class marched to the Flagstaff House to petition the President in what they say is the worsening economic conditions in the country.

In their continued campaign for responsible governance, the group has introduced a new campaign called the ‘Red Friday’.

The ‘Red Friday’ campaign is intended to “keep issues raised in our petition alive until government reacts positively and swiftly to them”.

The campaign which will be driven through social media networks will have one major issue raised and discussed by followers from Sunday through to Thursday.

On Friday however, the issues discussed during the week will be emphasized on Fridays through social media networks with posts/reposts, tweets/retweets bearing the hash tags #redfriday #occupyflagstaffhouse.

In addition, followers are encouraged to wear [in addition to their Friday wear] at least one visible red item and post photos or videos with comments and opinions with #redfriday #occupyflagstaffhouse.

The group thanked all partakers of the ‘Occupy Flagstaff House’ protest and apologized for any humiliation they might have faced due to their involvement.

They also thanked the police for their cooperation in making the protest a success and pledged their continued cooperation in future engagements.
