Mrs Augustina Akosua Akumanyi, Deputy Chairman of NCCE, has called for the establishment of Political Parties’ Code of Conduct Enforcement Committees (PPCCEC) in all constituencies in the country.
She explained that this would ensure political party functionaries with grievances could have them resolved in the constituencies rather than allowing them to take the law into their own hands.
Mrs Akumanyi made the call at a mini durbar organized by Atiwa District Directorate of NCCE at Moseaso on Wednesday to educate the electorate on free and fair elections on December 7.
She advised parents and the electorate to take advantage of the exhibition of the voters’ register in October, to have the names of minors and dead relatives expunged from the register.
Mrs Akumanyi explained that, it was important for parents to educate their children to be truthful in whatever they do to grow to become useful citizens.
She said security personnel deployed on the election day at polling stations were to maintain law and order and not to intimidate anyone.
Mrs Akumanyi advised the electorate to cast their votes early and not wait until after 1700 hours to rush and force their way into the queue to create confusion.
Mr Quaye Sowah, Eastern Regional Director of NCCE, called on the people to give equal opportunity to all political parties to present their policies and programmes to them to make their choice from a well informed position.
