The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has banned the Adwoa Boatemaa Memorial Clinic in Mamprobi, Accra from providing services to NHIS subscribers for three months.
The suspension which takes effect from July 26, 2014 is because the facility failed to meet minimum standards, Communications Manager of the NHIA, Selorm Adonoo has said.
According to him the action followed scheduled clinical audits conducted at the facility by the NHIA, which produced worrying results.
The Clinical Audit is a routine assessment of NHIS-credentialed facilities to ensure strict adherence to standards.
A statement issued by the Authority says the sanction will remain in force until the Authority is satisfied that recommendations proffered are implemented as a prerequisite to lifting the suspension.
“The NHIA as a social health protection program takes seriously service delivered at all provider sites and will ensure that its service providers adhere to quality standards in the interest of our subscribers,” the statement emphasied.
