Samuel Opoku returned a net score of 70, to win the Achimota Golf Club Monthly Medal and Farmer’s Day Open Championship played at Achimota in Accra on Saturday.
Robert Evans took the second position with 73 net, George Toall took the third position with 74 net, while M. Maguire placed fourth with 76 net beating William Osei Bonsu on count-back.
Mariam Ben-George won the Ladies event when she defeated Victoria Adjei on count-back, after they both returned a score of 82 net.
The one-day 18-Hole Medal Play, which formed part of activities marking the Farmer’s Day celebrations, was co-sponsored by B. Brenya and sons Limited and I.B.B. Golf Club of Ikoyi, Nigeria.
Mr Felix Brenya, Managing Director of B. Brenya and Sons Limited presented trophies to the winners.
