Three practitioners have filed to contest the October 28, 2014 elections to lead the Institute of Public Relations, Ghana as its President.
A news release signed by the Electoral Committee Chairman, Charles Nii Ayiku said at the close of nominations August 15, 2014, Messrs Perry P. K. Ofosu, APR; outgoing Vice President, Robert N. Mensah, APR – an Assistant Commissioner of the Ghana Revenue Authority and Mrs. Elaine Kwami, APR; a Public Relations Consultant have filed to run for the position of President.
Ms. Mamle Asare, APR; outgoing Treasurer and Mr. Mawuko Afadzinu, APR from the Stanbic Bank are the two contesting for the position of Vice-President.
Mr. Henry Nii Dottey, APR incumbent Honorary Secretary is the only contestant for the position, while Mr. Kwami Poku Djan, APR from Airtel Ghana is also standing unopposed as Deputy Honorary Secretary.
The outgoing Deputy Honorary Secretary, Mrs. Mariam Millah, APR is contesting Mrs. Sandy Amegadoe, APR for the position of Treasurer.
The Electoral Committee met on Wednesday September 3, 2014 to vet and approve the candidates who all qualified as per the provisions of the constitution.
