The mother of an I8-year-old student who was convicted to 84 months imprisonment on Wednesday for robbery, says her son was framed up and vowed to make whoever it was to face the consequences.
Immediately the sentence was pronounced, David Agbogili's mother threw her hands in the air in despair and said she had left everything to God, but later in tears she vowed to avenge her son's incarceration.
Agbogili had pleaded not guilty to robbery.
Meanwhile, his accomplices are on the run and police are making all efforts to bring them to book.
Police Chief Inspector Archibald Fandoh, prosecuting told the Circuit Court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Amoh- Yartey, that the complainant Akari Browne also a student, lives at Ahensari Estate in Kumasi where Agbogili and his four accomplices reside.
He said at about II :30pm on November 12, Browne was returning home after visiting a friend when he met a gang ostensibly on a robbery expedition at Ahensan Estates and its environs.
Browne's shouts for help attracted some residents who combed the area and arrested AgbogiIi in an uncompleted building with the stolen item.
The gang, armed with a hoe, cutlasses and towels which they used as masks robbed him of a Power Temperature Control Voltage Machine and bolted.
The prosecutor said Agbogili was handed over to the police and after investigations, he was charged with the offence.
