Kelvin Mensah returned a gross score of 70 to win this year’s National Caddies Open Golf Championship played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Wednesday.Ben Asare took the second position with 72 gross when he beat Vincent Cofie on count-back with Francis Dorkey placing fourth with 74 gross while Isaac Boateng placed fifth with 75 gross, beating Francis Addo on count-back.In the Ladies encounter, Jessica Tei came first with 45 gross, Patience Doe placed second with 51 gross with Francisca Akafo taking the third position with 53 gross after she beat Philomena Asorgba on count-back while Georgina Atison placed fifth with 54 gross.The one-day nine-hole Stable-ford event, which was opened to caddies throughout the country, was sponsored by Promasidor Ghana Limited.Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Achimota Golf Club, commended the company for sponsoring the event for the sixth year running.He called on the participants to be obedient, law-abiding and respect the rules of the sport and the Club to enable them advance to greater heights.Mr Festus Tettey, Sales and Marketing Manager of Promasidor Ghana Limited, gave the assurance that his company would continue to support the Caddies to enable them achieve their avowed aims.Source: GNA
