A magistrate court at Kade, on Monday jailed Kwasi Emadome, a foreman at an akpeteshie distillery at Okumaning, for 18 months for stealing four drums of akpeteshie, valued at GH C1,080 belonging to his employer.
He pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing.
Police Inspector Eric Tetteh Zorh, told the court presided over by Mr. Kwaku Baah-Frempong that the complainant gave 100 bags of sugar to the Emadome to distil akpeteshie.
Prosecution said complainant indicated that with the quantity of sugar the accused person should have produced 22 drums of akpeteshie but he account for only 18 drums.
Insp. Zorh said another worker at the distillery reported to complainant that Emadome stole four drums of akpeteshie.
Prosecution said the accused person absconded but complainant on 5 January this year arrested him (accused person) at Odumase Krobo and handed him over to the police.
