Eight people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Nkwanta South District Chief Executive, Peter Kojo Kenyenso.
Volta Regional Minister, Helen Ntoso told Joy News that the police have confirmed the arrests this morning.
She said arrangements have been made to bring the body to the regional capital, Ho and that a visit to the bereaved family will be arranged as soon as possible.
According to the Minister, military and police personnel have been deployed into the area in order to ensure peace and security and to prevent further disturbances.
The late DCE was shot dead in front of his house, Monday night as he alighted from his vehicle. He was confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital.
The Member of Parliament for the constituency, who confirmed the news on Adom FMs ‘Burning Issues’ said he was with the deceased on Monday afternoon but was called at about 5:00 pm and informed about the incident.
