A Sekondi District Magistrate's Court on Thursday imposed a fine of GH¢120 on a commercial car driver for failing to stop his vehicle at a zebra crossing, when asked to do so by a Metropolitan Guard.
The accused who pleaded guilty would serve six months imprisonment with hard labour if he defaults.
The case of the prosecution was that on February 10 this year, a Metropolitan Guard on duty at the Zebra Crossing near the Roman Catholic Church in Takoradi, signaled the accused to stop his vehicle for school children to cross the road, but he failed to do so.
