The Akuapem South Municipal Assembly, on Tuesday confirmed Dr. Fredrick Osei Bonsu Twum, as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area.
He polled 46 of the 60 votes cast while 14 persons voted against him at an emergency meeting held at Nsawam.
Dr. Twum thanked members of the assembly for confirming his nomination and promised to co-operate with all stakeholders to work for the progress of the area.
He pledged to place priority on sanitation to promote health in the municipality.
Mr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Eastern Regional Minister, urged the assembly members to support the new MCE to enable him to apply his experience to improve upon revenue generation towards the development of the municipality.
He called on the Member of Parliament for the area, assembly members and the MCE to work as a team to facilitate the development of the area.
