The former Inspector -General of Police (IGP) in the NPP administration, Mr. Patrick Acheampong, has applauded President John E. A. Mills for appointing Mr. Paul Tawaih Quaye as IGP.Speaking on Peace FM’s< /b>, morning show, “Kokrokoo” from Greece, Mr. Acheampong said, the president could not have made any better choice in the police service than choosing Mr. Quaye. He stated “I have worked with Mr. Tawiah for several years and I can confidently say he is competent, hardworking and a team player with all the qualities to serve as IGP”.It would be recalled that President John Evans Atta Mills on Friday 15, 2009 in consultation with the Council of State appointed Mr. Paul Tawiah Quaye as the substantive Inspector-General of Police (IGP) of the Republic of Ghana, with immediate effect. Mr. Paul Tawiah Quaye replaces Mrs. Elizabeth Mills-Robertson, the Acting Inspector – General of.Mr. Paul Tawiah Quaye was born on 6th May, 1953. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science and an Executive MBA in Human Resource Management. He was commissioned as Assistant Superintendent of Police into the Ghana Police Service in 1980 and rose to the rank of Commissioner of Police in 2002. He was, until his appointment, the Commissioner-in Charge of Strategic Direction and Monitoring of the Ghana Police Service.Source: Peacefm
