Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Deputy Minister of Energy has called for attitudinal change for the rapid development of the nation
He said, unless Ghanaians change their attitude, no leader can produce a better Ghana the nation was yearning for.
Mr Buah made the call at the opening of a day’s Ghana National Church Leadership Summit in Accra on Saturday.
The event dubbed; “Momentum 2009”, was under the theme: “Changing the gears of Your Church for accelerated growth”.
The summit, organized by the Titi-Ofei Ministries, was aimed at offering the participants the opportunity to share their experiences and offer ideas, and also equip them with ministerial skills to enable them face the challenges ahead.
Mr Buah said attitudes such as littering the streets, putting up unauthorized structures and defecating at the beaches which had eaten deep into the society were hampering the developmental process.
The Deputy Minister appealed to religious leaders to use the pulpit to educate their members on government’s policies and programmes.
Bishop S.N. Mensah, President of the Full Gospel Church International, called on religious leaders to help their members to translate their dreams and visions into reality.
The Reverend Gideon Titi-Ofei, President of the Tit-Ofei Ministries, urged Ghanaians to open a new chapter by refraining from acts which hinder national development.
He thanked National Investment Bank for supporting the programme and expressed the hope that the event would be an annual affair and would be extended to other countries.
Ten pastors who undertook the Ministries’ mentorship programme, were ordained at the summit, which was attended by over 1000 participants from Ghana and Nigeria.Source: GNA
