Nigeria Catholic church offers health facilities as isolation centres

The Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria has offered all its health facilities across the country as isolation and treatment centres for coronavirus patients.

The Director of the Catholic Health Secretariat in Nigeria, Emmanuel Okechukwu, told the BBC that the church has more than 440 heath facilities and they are willing to allow the facilities to be used for testing, isolation and treatment centres.

Nigeria has been struggling with bed spaces and has called for the donation of properties from organisations and individuals.

The head of the coronavirus response team in Nigeria Boss Mustapha has called on state governments to take advantage of the facilities.

Nigeria has 4,641 confirmed cases of coronavirus but there are also concerns regarding low levels of testing.Article share tools
